This policy explains the cookies used on modularoutdoorliving.co.uk and how you control them. It sits alongside our privacy notice, which explains how Modular Outdoor Living Ltd handles personal data more generally.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Some are needed for the site to work at all — remembering what is in your basket, for example. Others are optional, and are used to understand how the site is being used.
Your choice
We do not set any optional cookies unless you accept them. Nothing is loaded from Google until you click "Accept analytics cookies" — rejecting means no analytics request is ever made. We remember your choice for six months and then ask again.
Strictly necessary cookies
These are required for the site to function and cannot be switched off. They do not require consent.
| Cookie | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|
mol_cookie_consent |
Records whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies, so we do not ask on every page. | 6 months |
woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart |
Remember what is in your basket as you move around the site. | End of session |
wp_woocommerce_session_* |
Links your basket and configured specification to your session so checkout works. | 2 days |
mol_preferred_week |
Remembers the delivery week you picked at checkout. | Cleared once your order is placed |
wordpress_logged_in_* |
Only set for staff logging in to manage the site. | Session, or 14 days if "remember me" is used |
Analytics cookies — optional
These are only set if you accept them. They tell us which pages are visited and how people move through the site, so we can improve it. We do not use them to identify you personally, and we do not use them for advertising.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga |
Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes one visitor from another. | 2 years |
_ga_* |
Google Analytics 4 | Maintains the session state for this website. | 2 years |
If you reject analytics cookies, or change your mind later, any Google Analytics cookies already on your device are deleted.
Controlling cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies through its settings, usually under Privacy. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop the basket and checkout working.
Changes to this policy
If we start using different cookies we will update this page and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent again. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
